Good video! I was wondering if this bag would work with my Thudbuster ST seatpost. And if not, do you know of a non-suspended seatpost that softens the ride. Thanks!

  • It probably won’t work on a Thudbuster. I saw a comparison of non-suspended seatposts a few months ago and it was pretty interesting. Check out this link:

  • Hi Steve (and Russ)

I’ve been using bikepacking saddle bags with a Thudbuster ST without issue. The top strap of this Revelate is slightly awkwardly wrapped just below the elastomer, but it seems to hold fine.

    Thanks for the review, Russ!

  • Great video, thanks Russ.

Do you happen to know the all-in weight of a comparative setup with harness and dry bag? (e.g. Apidura, Revelate, Alpkit, or Wildcat).

It seems very heavy, although clearly beautifully made. But I wonder if the total weight difference in serious is maybe a bit closer than I might expect.

  • Great video! Can’t wait to receive a test set ourselves. We are currently testing Restrap and Apidura, and am very curious about the differences between these 3 brands.
    Thanks for sharing!

  • Great video! Love this bag! Would look into it more tomorrow. My wife and I use something else on our tandem when cycling around but this looks great!

    Thanks for sharing this video!

Russ, thanks so much for this review! I was so tempted to buy the Arkel Seatpacker 15 based on your review, but it’s not waterproof and it’s considerably more expensive than the Ortlieb Seat Pack ($60+ more). At BikeTiresDirect.com, I found the Ortlieb on sale for $143.99 ($76 less than the Arkel), so I jumped on it. I have my very “long ride” (from L.A. to San Diego) in March and I’m looking forward to using the Ortlieb Seat Pack for it. Thanks again for your great help!

Sorry, I thought the OP meant a dropper post, not a Thudbuster. I agree, Russ.
