In this video, I review the Blackburn Outpost Frame Bag, a good value frame bag with lots of functionality for the price. For those that would rather read than watch, here is the executive summary:

Pros:
+ Aesthetics. It’s a great looking bag!
+ Good volume for carrying loads.
+ Organization. Some nice side pockets for access to things without opening the main chamber.
+ Port for hydration tube.
+ Price. At a current MSRP of between $60-$65 it is a great options that want to just “try out” bikepacking without too much upfront investment.

Cons:
– Velcro straps and loops aren’t rubberized and will mar paint.
– In half frame bag mode, water bottle cages are inaccessible. (This will vary from frame to frame but on both our 54 and 56 sized Warbirds the bottle cages were unusable)
– Bottom half of bag has tendency to bulge if not packed correctly.
– Long term durability.
