VIDEO: Frito Pie Ride!
We’ve been lucky to make some great friends while in Portland. For us, the toughest thing about traveling is rarely the hills and wind (ok, maybe the wind), but saying goodbye. This video is just a small glimpse into the great fun we’ve had with our friends here in Portlandia.
If you’re excited for our Big Adventure. Small Wheels. trip and support our goal to invigorate bike and train travel, consider making a donation to allow us to go further and create inspiring videos along the way.

oh man, you rode up to Pittock Mansion? I’ve only walked up there once, and had to walk backwards up a couple of hills (and then did Forest Park cleanup for a couple of hours, then walked home). I hurt a lot the next day. Of course, I don’t ride/walk up major hills all the time. ^_^
Wow Russ, what a great video! Seriously, I almost cried at the end. I’m really going to miss you guys!
growing up, we called frito pies “chillie billies.” They’re so good! I’ve been living in an African village for the last 2 1/2 years (Peace Corps-Zambia) and your site/video gives me hope that i can still have a fulfilling life back here in the states. Thanks!
My 3 year old had to watch this over and over because “We have those sporks!” I love your blog and take much inspiration from it. (As much as a suburban housewife with 4 kids can!) Thanks, and speedy recovery on the ankle.
