Video: Bicycling in Bend
In our latest video update, we take The Breeze Bus (which needs some bike racks like The Wave, especially since its ferrying between two super bike towns!) from Portland to Bend and explore the bikeyness of this high desert town. We go on a few local rides, I try out the Orvis fly fishing course and we interview Sara Salo from SchoolFoodTour.org about her upcoming tour.

As usual enjoyable purposeful story content. It was nice to see the artistic evolution in the video production, especially around the sunset shots.
You should visit Robvert Beckman Designs in Bend if you are still there or on a future visit there.
He makes the best pannier and rack combination I have ever seen and used. Mine are now almost 25 years old and going strong. He also makes a few touring bike.
Woo-hoo… on the road again. Happy trails. And Russ, I’m loving your narration. Bruce Brown would be proud.
Oh, goodness, you two make hills look easy. 🙂
I sent an email to the Breeze requesting bike racks. Can’t hurt, right? I was pretty impressed with the Canby Area Transit shuttle to Oregon City, which spared me a harrowing hill on the return from Champoeg (I made it, Laura!). The shuttle is free and has bike racks!
Also worth mentioning: if I hadn’t been reading about your multimodal emphasis since Laura’s ankle was injured, I wouldn’t have considered CAT, the Wave or the Breeze as an option to extend my trips or overcome my internal resistance to hills. So THANK YOU for that. Reading about your flexibility & joy in multimodal travel has really changed my perspective on how far I can go.
