We’re really excited to present this video of Heidi Bierele talking about her findings on her cross-country bike tour that doubled as a master’s thesis. She explored the different types of touring cyclists, how communities can benefit from bike touring and some easy recommendations for how businesses can be bike friendly. Looking at bike touring from an economic standpoint is fairly new in the United States, so we’re glad to aide the discussion by sharing these interviews to inspire small towns and regional tourism boards to consider bike touring. In the end, by helping businesses and small towns, we ultimately help ourselves as bike tourists by creating environments that are more welcoming to cyclists.

Thanks again Hedi for riding from Eugene to Corvallis for the interview!
