Filming in El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM! Need some cyclists!
We are headed to El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM from October 1st to 6th to do filming about bicycling in the area. We want to know what the best local ride is and why you like riding there. If you’re a cyclist in either town (or points in between) and would like to be part of the project send us an email! We are looking for all types of cyclists to be part of the video. We’ll need some people to do a short 10 minute interview about their favorite ride and some b-roll riding and hanging out around town.
If you’re interested and love cycling in the area and want to help us out, contact us today!

I will probably be through El Paso long before the first of October. Sounds like an awesome project but, my funds are limited and I have to keep moving to meet my funding limits.
Alot of the hardcore bike riders stop for coffee at Beck’s Coffee on Mesquite in Las Cruces…
I am a cyclist at El paso TX. I am available if interested.
Hi. I’m a local cyclist and bike racer. I’ve lived in Las Cruces since ’98 and have been actively involved in the cycling community since I moved. I’m certain that I can bring some good local insight to your project.
I am 51 years old ,I have riden this city my whole live. There are so many great places too ride it would be hard to pick just one.EL PASO TO RUIDOSO,Trans Mountain-Anthony Gap loop, Scenic Drive on sundays cuz its closed to motor traffic.ride up hy 28 fromEP tx to masea nm.My fav ride is up to ski apachie.
Born and raised in Juarez/El Paso, a day when I get to ride my bike is bound to be a great day! El Paso and “you need a car to get around this city” go together like cookies and milk. I’m a more casual rider, I’m not competetive, I do it because I love it. Commuting is a challenge (scorching heat, high winds, heavy & ignorant traffic, flash floods, and freezes) and I don’t always do it. October 1 I will be celebrating a quarter century of life!
Rock on!
Hi I’m part of a cycling club in Juarez Mexico , Our name is Bonsai Cycling. Team, we do MTB and we are preparing for our biggest challenge “chupacabras” We also do rides in El Paso, Chaparral and white Sands are, we will be more than happy to be part of this project.
love to ride mountaibike at NORTH EAST TRAILS (start at chuck heinrick park). No traffic and no fear for cars to run over. Love to listen to the sounds of the mountain, my bicycle tires rolling over the rocks and dirt. Go to the highest part of the Franklin mountains and see the city from there. (sometimes we go at night to see el paso lights from there.
I would like to be part of the riders I live in El Paso

I just recently started riding bikes, but I can say is very addictive and sick, make me feel young and revived I am 54 yrs old and I live in Anthony Texas-New Mexico.
Victor,
We are working to get Anthony area riders together. E-mail me!
I’m a Las Cruces cyclist (mountain bike & road) and am certainly interested in participating.
Awesome! My name’s Elias, I work for Crazy Cat Cyclery, big bike nerd who knows lots of other bike nerds from all walks including, but not limited to, half the people who’ve replied to this post. Adria, Daniel, Chuck, Jesse, Tyson, Dawson: All good peeps!!
Glad to help Available if needed
WE have a bunch of fixie/culture riders up here that regularly battle it out with the el paso fixed groups.
No spandex, no brakes
would be a good idea if you include in your film the ” chupacabras 100km” challenge in Juarez; where cyclists come from many parts of Mexico and US , there are many good cyclists in Juarez.
What a great response! So excited to meet all you fabulous riders and have you be part of Russ and Laura’s experience in our cities, not to mention part of the video. Can’t wait for the first weekend of October!
Love to help to bad you will miss the Chili Pepper challenge on the 28th of September. I am in Las Cruces and have been biking the area for the last 3 years. One of the reasons I do not want to go anywhere else.
If your are in the area and want to observe something spectacular that unites El Paso and Juarez you might consider staying for the Chupacabras 100km MTB race. In Las Cruces the Mesilla – El Paso ride is great since it takes you away from the desert for a few moments.
There’s the Tuesday night Dona Ana mountain bike ride outside of Las Cruces. Cyclists start showing up around 4 or 5PM, ride by themselves or in groups on the various trails, and after riding, hang out until 9 or 10PM at the trailhead.
I have biked a minimum of 8,000 miles a year and 40 + centuries a year since 2008. While many of the brevets I do are out of town, the majority of my rides span from El Paso- to as far north as Hillsboro and Emory Pass NM. In addition, as the founder and ride coordinator for the Beginner Intermediate Group aka B/IG I have graduated over 200 cyclists since 2008, of which many each year complete their first century. I love the entire El Paso TX area but I am especially fond of La Mesa- up Hwy 28 to Calle Del Sur-Rt on Snow to Calle Norte- through Fairacres To Shalom Colony Rd and back. Another beautiful route is Mesilla to Highway 185 to Hatch NM and back. Closer to El Paso- La Unian- Alvarez, Mercantile and Casad are beautiful as well as on the east side of town the lower valley, Fabens to Ft Hancock or the back roads through San Elizario. I never get tired of the beautiful routes we have here!
Love riding all over El Paso! Eastside to the westside or vice versa rides, stop at the friendly local bike shops to say hello and see what’s new. Ride out to the lower and upper valley’s for more of an isolated trek and we have our uphill challenges, Scenic Drive or the Trans-mountain route. A variety of places to ride to out here, let’s not forget our adjacent cities in New Mexico and Juarez.
