How to Choose A Gravel Bike
There are a multitude of “gravel” bikes available now. Some which focus on racing and others that are more adventure oriented. In this video, I break down some things to consider when looking for a gravel bike. I address things like handling, wheel/tire size and utility.
If you’re interested on our opinion on certain gravel bikes, check out our Supple Spreadsheet. We test 25 gravel bikes in 2018 and this is a great resource that looks at gravel bikes within a spectrum.

I just recently discovered your blog and I’ve been binge watching. Thanks for the great site.
Would like to see you review more 700c bikes. In particular, the Gravelbikes designed for 700×50 or even 29×2.2 tires. Kona Sutra LTD, Breezer Radar, Trek 920, Bombtrack Beyond 1, Rodeo Traildonkey, etc.
Would also like to see some reviews of some flat-bar Gavelbikes. Salsa Journeyman, Giant Toughroad, Surly Bridgeclub, etc.
Keep up the good work!
I heart spreadsheets!
Hey Russ,
Do you have Plans to add more bikes to the supple spreadsheet?
I’d itching for a titanium allroad or gravel bike and would love see the break out for the bearclaw thunder hawk you’d rode.
I think I’ll try one of your bike whisperer sessions in November to get some insight as I struggle to find the right ti bike.
