REVIEW: Marin Nicasio Plus
I’m going to be honest. It’s hard for me to get excited about budget bikes. There are too many compromises with components. Their geos and handling characteristics err on the side boring to appease the widest amount of people. That is why, I was pleasantly surprised by the Marin Nicasio Plus!
Don’t get me wrong, its heavy like a budget bike and the components are definitely not drool worthy (functional but not beautiful). But in terms of providing a responsive ride on a budget, the Nicasio Plus is hard to beat. Check out our video review for more details:

Hi Russ, I am about to do a 60+ mile ride for MS in a couple weeks but am more so looking to getting into trail riding around LA. Right now the Marin Nicasio or the Salsa Journeyman 650 Claris seem the most appealing as I’m on a budget. There is also the Cannondale topstone. What do you think would be a better choice for a 6’4” male with longer legs than torso.
