ANOTHER #BUDGETMULLET HACK
In this video we try another #budgetmullet hack, this time using the Jtek Shiftmate #9. Of all the hacks out there, this was SUPPOSE to be the easiest requiring only splicing in the Shiftmate. In reality, with the way the cable enters the newer Eagle rear derailleurs it isn’t as easy as it is suppose to be.

I had (the bike was totaled by a car 4 days ago) a Rival 1 RD that I replaced the cage and clutch assembly with that of an Eagle GX. It allowed me to run 10-50t 11-speed cassettes (such as by Garbaruk) using an otherwise untouched Rival 1 drivetrain. Just need some circlip pliers and maybe a few extra circlips in case you break some. As a bonus, you can put the Rival 1 cage/clutch on the Eagle GX top and in theory (I haven’t tested it) you should be able to use it with 1×11 SRAM MTB shifters as long as you don’t go beyond 10-46t (which the Rival 1 supports no problem).
