Bike Touring 101 – Wed, March 31st
With the success of our REI presentation (despite the madness of SXSW), we’ve decided to put on another presentation in Austin! We’ll talk about our trip, but also specifically about S24Os. This presentation will be more of a tutorial on the basics of what to bring. We’ll have our bikes and gear and talk about what has worked for us. If you’re interested in how to go camping with your bike, you should come to our presentation.
You’ll be able to buy food from the Good Bike Cafe and we’re working with Freewheeling Cycles to create bike camping packages! Please email us if you plan to attend so we can get a sense of the attendance. We’ll have access to a projector and screen and will show some bicycle touring shorts as well.
Where: The Good Bike Cafe, in the Freewheeling Bicycles parking lot
When: Wed, March 31st @ 7:00pm-10:00pm
We’re also planning to lead a S24O bike camp trip on the weekend of April 10-11. We’re still nailing down the details, but we’ll be leaving from Freewheeling on Saturday (10th) and returning on Sunday (11th). If you want to join us for this weekend trip, but aren’t yet sure how to rig your bike, join us on March 31 and we’ll help make sense of it all!
See you next week and spread the word Austin!

You should try to record a video of your presentation and put it on your blog!
I’d love to see it, but being on the other side of North America has it’s set backs.
This sounds amazing! I wish I was anywhere near there so I could attend both the talk and the trip. Best of luck for the rest of your ride and your time in Austin, and keep up the fantastic blogging!

It would be a great idea to record some samples of the different place you travel to so that we can get a feel for what places we would like to go.
