42 MPH on a Brompton!
Just a goofy video of us going down Big Hole pass into Wisdom, MT. The road had little traffic and was straight as an arrow in parts. I let it go and hit 42mph with the fully loaded Brompton!

Really liked hearing the roar of your compact jet engine!

Amazing. Were you able to pry your hands off the bars at the bottom?

you need some TT bars on that thing. I have hit 47.7mph on the Surly LHT. It sure is nice to let the descent take over.

How is the camera attached to the bike?

Never mind the camera – how were you!?!?
Glad you made it safe down…

Be careful out there Russ
I took a tremendous spill going that speed on my Bike Friday. My wrist has had pain ever since. Small wheels like ours are just not as stable at speed. I’ve learned just to coast down hill and enjoy

Many people may not appreciated what 42mph is on a loaded bike is really like. I have clocked in the low 50mph before on a mtn bike it is freakin scary, any movement is amplified greatly. The CG is super critical when loaded, looks like your load balance is very good. It is a cool video for sure. Hey when you went down that grade in Anza Borrego do you recall what speed you hit?

… so brave Ross! I can’t imagine if you hit just bigger hole … big and deep enough for whole brom’s wheel …
Anyway good video a congrat. But what is the sound on background? Is it that nydnamo HUB?

Wow, on any fully loaded bike that is fast! I can’t imagine it with those smaller wheels… Be safe out there!

Chuck Yeager has nothing on you!

About 67.5 km/h! Not bad at all on those small wheels!
