Review: Saris Freedom EX2 Hitch Rack
Sometimes, you need a little jumpstart on your bike tour to get out of town or if you are crunched for time. In this video, review the Saris Freedom EX 2 hitch rack which is particularly suited for carrying touring bikes.
If you would rather read than watch, here is the executive summary:
PROS:
-Shipped to be used both 1.25 and 2 inch hitches
-Single bar design makes the rack lightweight and easy to install and remove
-Integrated locks for the hitch and cable lock for bikes
-User replaceable wheel trays for fat tire bikes available
-Center mast design won’t crush bike fenders or interfere with bike racks
-2 60lb bike weight capacity!
Cons:
-Center mast not tall enough to use the clamps on the top tube of our bikes
-Takes a little more maneuvering to weave mast clamps on to downtubes

Hey there, I’m looking for a rack like this that will allow bikes with racks, baskets, etc. This one looks interesting but I see that the video is a few years old–just wondering if you have any further/newer thoughts on this subject?
