Hauling it away…
I loaded up the cargo bike this afternoon AND our Burley flatbed trailer (thank goodness for that!) It took about three trips to get rid of what we had in boxes in the living room and that’s just a fraction of what we’ve got.
The mountains of belongings we have to get rid of (especially me, I’m guilty of hoarding), is really really daunting.
This is really proving a lot harder than we thought, especially if you’re trying to be conscious of NOT just dumping things in the trash.
I’m not quite sure what to do with all my boxes of negatives and prints. I may have a sale of my old black and white work. Might be a good way to raise the money for the trip. What do you think?

Sell the prints, not the negatives! You should archive those safely for when you are famous and command huge prices. 🙂

Great idea Russ! It has taken Tammy and I more than a year to scale down to a 400 sqft apt. I can only imagine what it must be like to scale down to just bikes in a few weeks. Cathartic at best, sorrowful at worst. We still take a two bike load to the local thrift store once a week after a year!
The sale sounds like a great idea. At the very least you may want to make a digital copy of your images and/or negatives for reference to where you’ve been. Like your shoes, I’m sure some images still remind you of your path once traveled. 😉
Cheers,
Logan.
[…] There is enough room to out carry a Smart car. If you need more, simply add a trailer (like Russ did to his cargo bike) and your storage capacity instantly […]
