Of Phones and Photos
Testing out our latest piece of gear, an iPhone! As part of our attempt to update our travels in real-ish time, I buckled with my vow to never use AT&T (had really crappy customer service years ago) and got an iPhone.
I have to say, I’ve been really pleased with it and am super impressed with it’s camera/Internet integration. I’ve been geeking out with it the last few days and am really looking forward to using it on our journey. I’ve been taking some snaps to document our packing and to familiarize myself with the controls.
Here’s a few snaps taken with it (and this post was written with it as well)!

The post looks great. What programs do you use? I’m using the blogpress app to post. What do you use for panoramic pictures? I just started posting to my blog from the iphone and it doesn’t look anything like yours. I’d like to hear your suggestions.
Hey there Mike….I use the Blogpress app to do the posting (but then I go into the HTML to place and resize the photos). I use Photogene to adjust exposure/contrast/saturation and CameraBag if I want to give it some sort of aged/distressed effect. I use Pano to make the panos and also bring those into Photogene or Camerabag after stitching. I just basically do the same post-processing I would do if I were using my Nikon and Lightroom but on a way smaller scale!
I’m really looking forward to those “real time” posts from the road. Like you, I had an atrocious experience with AT&T years ago. My Dad died and I missed one bill — one freaking bill — and they set a collection agency on me. I paid the bill, gave them a piece of my mind and swore I’d tie two cans together before I’d ever use AT&T again. I’m with T-Mobile and have had nothing but good experiences, so I live in BlackBerry land and try to ignore my iPhone lust. Sigh.
Lovelovelove the final photo of just the bike against the horizon!
