Just a quick reminder that our presentation is tomorrow at The Good Bike Cafe in the parking lot of Freewheeling Bicycles. We’ll be talking about our trip, the basics of what you’ll need for touring (especially S24Os) and we’ll also be showing some great touring videos from the internet – a mini bike touring film festival! It will be a fun and social bikey evening. Laura and I will be there around 6pm to meet and greet so if you want to come out early and hang out, please do!

In addition to the presentation, we’ve got prizes to give away and some specials from local businesses!

The Good Bike Cafe is a purveyor of tasty wraps and some killer coffee. I’ve recently become addicted to their macchiato which they make the traditional way with some strong espresso shots and just a dusting of milk foam. Laura digs their sweet Cuban coffee. If you arrive by bicycle, you’ll get a 25% discount off of food and drinks! Come early because it’ll be a busy night!

Angie from Freewheeling Bicycles is super excited about bicycle touring and is offering a limited time special at the shop. You’ll get 5% off of any touring bicycle and trailer and 15% off gear until 9/10! That means 5% off a Trek 520, Surly LHT or the Redline Metro 9 (a great commuter and over night bike camping bike). If you’ve been wanting to get a rack and pannier set (Ortliebs, Arkels, Jannd, etc.,) you can get them for 15% off. Angie will have some touring bikes and gear outside on demo and will keep the shop open until sunset.

We’ll also be giving away some Klean Kanteen gear (water bottles and their new insulated bottles).

And of course, there will be plenty of Adventure Cycling magazines to look at as well as the chance to win some yearlong memberships!

See you there!
